How My D&D&History Classes Work
My Dungeons & Dragons & History teaching model transforms education into an immersive adventure unlike any traditional class!
The process begins with students designing imaginary characters who then enter a specific historical narrative that changes each semester, using real historical events like the Great Molasses Flood of 1919 or the Seneca Falls Convention of 1848 as the setting.
Once inside this fully imaginary world, I weave in threads of fantasy, such as dragons or ice giants, while simultaneously teaching the real-world history of the event, its cultural significance, and the daily life of the period.
This approach ensures a highly engaging learning experience, with optional homework provided to reinforce the factual historical content outside of the role-playing.
