Explore Designing and Running a Homebrew D&D Campaign

$125.00

Do you have a notebook bursting at the seams with wild campaign ideas, terrifying homebrew monsters, and devious riddles?

Have you ever wanted to build an unforgettable fantasy world and lead your friends through it?

Do you catch yourself talking in a bizarre accent at the dinner table and immediately thinking, “Oh, I am definitely saving that voice for an eccentric wizard”?

If you answered yes to any of these, welcome to your creative home base.

What We’ll Do

Over four weeks, we are going to pull those ideas out of your head and turn them into a playable, breathing campaign world. We will tackle the nuts and bolts of dungeon mastering—from building balanced encounters and designing custom magic items to establishing house rules, weaving deep lore, and keeping your players hooked at every turn.

How the Class Works

Each 2-hour session is split into two parts:

Hour 1: The Workshop. We dive deep into the week’s core mechanics—world-building, story structure, encounter design, or player dynamics.

Hour 2: The Table. Time to step behind the DM screen! Students will take turns running short encounters they’ve created, testing out their material, and receiving constructive feedback in a supportive environment.

By the end of the course, you won't just know how to run a campaign - you’ll have built one, playtested it, and possess the confidence to run it at your own table.

Experience: No prior Dungeon Master experience required! However, basic familiarity with playing Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition is strongly recommended so we can hit the ground running.

Class Etiquette: I expect and require gentle, respectful language in my classes, and ask that all students come to class prepared to treat each other with kindness. These classes are a great opportunity for your kiddos to practice social/soft skills, with the underlying perspective that we’re all in this together.
